Empowering Youth with Technology: Amorph Systems and Friendshifts in the year 2024

Empowering Youth: IT Skills in India, Jordan & Togo

At AMORPH SYSTEMS, we believe that technology is the future – and that everyone should have access to it, regardless of their circumstances.

We are delighted to have been able to contribute to this in 2024 through our partnership with FRIENDSHIFTS, a Dutch NGO dedicated to supporting disadvantaged communities through education. Together, we supported educational programs in Jordan, India, and Togo this year to promote digital literacy and IT skills that open up opportunities and inspire hope.

“Technology is the gateway to the future and we are committed to giving young people the skills they need to navigate and succeed in a digital world.” – Silke Frauenhoffer – CFO AMORPH SYSTEMS

Jordan: Better Employment Opportunities through AI Skills

Youth unemployment in Jordan remains a major challenge, especially among university graduates. To tackle this problem, Amorph Systems has supported the “Liwan Youth Space” in Amman to help young people achieve financial independence and successfully integrate into the world of work.

This year, the institution launched a pioneering training program – “Future Ready: AI Skills for Today’s World”. The course provided the 35 participants with practical insights into artificial intelligence and taught them how to use AI in their everyday lives and careers. By teaching future-ready skills, we helped these young people improve their employment prospects and gain more confidence for their professional careers.

India: Laying the Foundations for Digital Literacy

In Gopalapuram, Bengaluru, marginalized youth face barriers to accessing education and technology. To close this gap, Amorph Systems has sponsored a six-month IT training program offered by FRIENDSHIFTS partner Makkala Jagriti.

The program introduced the participants to basic computer systems, MS Office, Google tools, and social media applications. These newly acquired skills strengthened their digital knowledge, also increased their self-confidence, and significantly improved their employment opportunities.

Togo: Sparking Creativity Through Coding

Our partnership in Togo was characterized by a particularly inspiring initiative this year. In addition to supporting ongoing Microsoft Office training, FRIENDSHIFTS launched a coding program at the request of a 12-year-old boy from an orphanage who dreamed of learning to code.

Through a course designed with Scratch, a visual programming language, six teenagers learned the basics of programming by creating animations in an interactive environment. The experience filled the participants with pride, creativity, and confidence in their technological abilities.

“We are grateful that we could build such a trusting partnership with FRIENDSHIFTS, where we really know that our financial contribution is going to the right places!” – Silke Frauenhoffer – CFO AMORPH SYSTEMS

Looking Ahead

We look forward to continuing this journey in the future – together with FRIENDSHIFTS and other supporters, we want to give as many young people as possible access to technology, education, and innovation.
